Protect Your Hands…

A recent project I just finished was the new header card for Xtreme Glove.

Every angler knows that after a day of catching largemouth, your thumbs are raw & torn up from their teeth. Never fear. There is a solution. Xtreme Glove has several options for angler hand protection, from the original to the max, to a great glove for the flats, they’re even available in youth sizes. Look for the Xtreme Glove in BassPro Shops nationwide. Xtreme Glove has a Pro Team of many great anglers, including Rick Clunn, 4-time BASSMASTER CLASSIC CHAMPION! They’re even the official sponsor of the Walt Disney World Guided Fishing Excursions.

On a side note, I use these, not only for bass fishing, but for fly fishing as well. Not only do they insulate your hand from the, usually, frigid water, but they offer protection from line abrasion while stripping big streamers through the water, or if your fish takes off in a hurry. These gloves are awesome! I don’t go fishing without these in my bag. It’s great to work with clients that have great products!

Orvis’ Trout Bum Ballcap – My favorite hat…

What can be said about the hat that I wear so much. I’ve put 2 years of heavy use on my Orvis Trout Bum Mesh Baseball Hat & like a fine wine (or scotch), it only gets better with age. I purchased a replacement a couple of months ago at Chattanooga’s Orvis Retailer Feather & Fly, (actually, I purchased both a green & orange this time…) but I haven’t worn them as much because the worn one is trained so well. The fit, even on the new ones, is so comfortable & the style is perfect for everyday wear. I want to get the saltwater series, but I need to wait until I’ve actually caught some of the fish on them, as to maintain my legitimacy as an angler. (I don’t want to be thought a poser…) Anyways, the purpose of this post is to give a major endorsement of this particular piece of headgear. Two thumbs up! 5 star rating! Etc… I’ve included a few pictures for comparison between the old & the new, as well as some shots of the hat doing what it does best… covering my dome.

Outdoor Adventure and Travel

Outdoor Adventure and Travel. When I hear it, visions of the great outdoorsmen come to mind and I dream of a swift departure from the hectic, technology driven life we live. My mind wanders to mountain ridges & valleys, from fly-fishing in the Smoky Mountains to stalking game & fishing for salmon in Alaska.

Fueling those visions of grandeur is Wes Hixon’s Outdoor Adventure & Travel. Not limited to continents & countries, Wes has offered world-class hunting and fishing in some of the most impressive locations this planet has to offer for more than 25 years.

The great outdoors

Went fly fishing yesterday @ North Chickamauga Creek with a friend. Gorgeous scenery and some nice red-eyed bass caught on a black & olive wooly bugger & a soft hackle fly. Caddis were plentiful, so i worked the soft hackle like a pro. Nothing like tying a few
